Throughout his career, Mike Gamble has concentrated on issues important to older Americans — from retirement planning to Medicare and elder care. Among his many accomplishments, he and an associate developed a substantially improved method for matching insurance benefits to the actual cost of elder care — an achievement for which they were awarded the first two U.S. patents for long-term care insurance.

Mike's expertise was put to the test when, in September 2000, his parents began to need the assistance of formal caregivers. Later, in February 2001, he became the primary care manager for his mother who lived 1,200 miles away. As he quickly learned, elder care can be very frustrating, especially if you are new at it. Most of us don't know where to go for answers, or even what questions to ask. Fortunately, Mike's professional background helped guide him through the mountains of new and often unexpected challenges.

Early in 2002, he launched the Aging Parents and Elder Care website to share what he learned both personally and professionally — to help people find the reliable information they need, easily and quickly. Later that year, Mike created Retirement My Way, a website to share information about a wide range of topics — from health to personal finances — that are important to active older Americans both before and after retirement.

Most recently, Mike launched Solutions for Seniors. That website offers helpful assistive products that people may not know about — whether they or their loved one needs a little help or a lot — to overcome some of the daily challenges of growing older. Solutions for Seniors also offers a wide variety of medical equipment, home health care products for the elderly, disability assistive devices, and more — solutions to help people continue living independently in their own homes with increased confidence and peace-of-mind.
